This originally appeared in the 6th annual Wide Awake Press comics anthology Wide Awake 666 which had a fun horror theme. My comic was a throwback to the Eerie Publications horror magazines from the 70's, which sported some of the most obnoxious over the top covers of any horror comic. These covers were train wrecks, usually with a couple of Draculas fighting a mummy over the body of a decapitated werewolf. While my comic may look goofy, it wasn't far off from the inspiration source.

This is how I met my wife. It was a long lonely road leading up to that New Year's party. It's nuts when you meet someone that you stay with and you realize that the two of you probably passed each other on the street a good number of times before your eyes ever caught each other. Circumstances, etc. Things happen for a reason and you meet that someone when you're supposed to, I guess.

Tomorrow's the 10th Anniversary FLUKE Mini-Comics & Zine Festival here in Athens, Georgia. This year with $2 admission we're giving away a 64 page collection of comics from folks who seem to be mostly FLUKE regulars or have pitched in for past books. Swell people all around.

Hand coloring FLUKE fliers with a kid's Crayola watercolor set. This is still cheaper than paying for 11x17 color copies. So Athens folk- Look for 'em around town!

In the background to the right you might spot an Ewok Village and Boba Fett's ship. They've been passed on to my kids and the Ewok Village is a hit, despite them having never seen an Ewok.

So, this year's FLUKE Mini-Comics & Zine festival has come and gone. I didn't have much there new to sell except for a few drawings, but this year's FLUKE comics anthology did consist of a book-length story I wrote and loosely penciled. Here's the cover-

So this might be the last of the Eddie's Week preview panels I'll be posting. Why?

I'm going to go back and redraw the damn thing again.

I was only eleven pages in and wasn't happy with the lines I was making with the pens I swore myself to using for this project. Instead, I'm starting from page one with a kind of pen that I'm comfortable with. And the end product will look better and I can get Eddie's Week done faster. Seriously. Eleven pages in. That's nothing.

The background to this is a black colored pencil scanned in as line art. It kinda had the desired effect I was going for, kinda not.

Also, I have an awful cold right now. Well, the worst part was on Tuesday and it's going away, but still. It was a real ass kicker. Now the rest of my family's sick. Woe is us.

Sorry. It's been about a month since I've posted anything, but I have a few projects I've been fiddling with, like a local alumni magazine cover and doing layouts for a comic some friends in town will ink. Also, after coming in from work and seeing the kids off to bed, some nights I'm too tired to draw. I just make a cup of tea and read until midnight. 17 year old me would be ashamed. But then, I would punch 17 year old me first since I was such a brooding self-conscious wallflower then. 17 year old me needed a punching.

Awhile back I was asked to participate in this comic project in England; so here's some background on it. I feel like out of all the heavy stories, mine might be the lightweight since it dealt with a local event from year ago, but it still kept with the theme. I'm kinda proud of the way the comic turned out.

A selection of the world’s most compelling graphic novelists and comic artists have collaborated with Ctrl.Alt.Shift, to create a limited edition comic book Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption which features original work from leading comic artists, satirists and creative figures from around the world including USA, South Africa, India, Sweden, Serbia and the UK. Ctrl.Alt.Shift Unmasks Corruption will engage and challenge the issues of social injustice in a bid to politicise a new generation of activists through the medium of popular comic culture.
